Description

Ty Isaf is a two-storey, three-window house, likely dating from the 18th century, built of stone which is limewashed to the front. The roof is covered with small slates to the front and artificial slates to the rear, and features rectangular end chimneys. The upper floor has three twelve-pane sash windows, and the central doorway is topped with a gabled hood and flanked by further twelve-pane sash windows. A rear outshut extends from the main house, with accommodation in two stories over what was the back kitchen. It has a chimney on its right-hand end, and two small windows in the left return. The rear glazing has been largely modernised.

The interior has a central hallway containing a wooden staircase leading to the rear. To the left is a parlour with a wooden mantel shelf. To the right is a "gegin fawr" (a large room), featuring a fireplace with a high, shallow arch and the remains of a beehive oven. The back kitchen contains a fireplace with an iron range and a beehive oven. A half-way level entrance from the stair leads to rooms above the back kitchen. The front of the house contains two bedrooms and a small room in the centre. Some original boarded doors remain throughout the house.
