Description

Nantyffin is a building constructed from whitewashed rubble stone, topped with a corrugated iron roof and featuring rendered end stacks, with the larger stack located on the right. The walls have been raised, and a small square loft window has been added under the eaves towards the right, while a pair of casement windows is positioned to the left. On the ground floor, there is a pair of casement windows to the left, a door with steps leading up (which once had a slate pent porch), a single window, and another pair of casement windows, all featuring 19th-century brick cambered heads except for the last window, which has a timber lintel. These windows are all raised high above the yard. The rear of the building includes left and center loft windows and a ground floor window to the right. A straight joint in the stonework may suggest that the building was constructed in two phases. There is also a 20th-century flat-roofed extension to the left and clear evidence of the eaves being raised.

Inside, the building features heavy chamfered beams and chamfered and stopped joists, with the lower floor level to the left. There are four large collar trusses, which are covered over and are said to be scarfed crucks. A small 19th-century stick baluster staircase is located in the center, and the fireplace stairs are reported to be in the southeast corner, according to the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales.
