Description
Felin Wen is a two-storey building with a loft, constructed from limestone rubble or roughly axe-dressed masonry, featuring stone quoins. It has a small east wing and a slate roof with a tile ridge. Notably, there are remains of an overshot water wheel, measuring 4 meters in diameter, positioned against the north gable end wall. The entrance is slightly right of the center in the south gable end wall, featuring a doorway with a cambered head and a single-pane modern window in the upper part of the wall.
On the west side elevation, there are two boarded-up window openings with cambered arches above two similar openings below, along with a small hole at the far left. The east side elevation has a central window, which is walled up, at the first storey with a cambered head, and the wing on the left includes a small upper window, along with lean-to sheds.
The roof and upper floors are divided into three bays, supported by high collar-beam trusses. The loft storey served as the sack floor, while the upper storey housed two millstones, with a sack filling hopper located on the ground floor. Although the machinery of the mill is likely complete, it is in a state of disrepair. The shaft from the millwheel enters through the north gable, and the millstones are positioned near the northwest and northeast corners of the building. The east wing features an opening to the mill on each floor.
