Description

The Old Almshouses are two very small single-room cottages built from limestone rubble masonry. Originally, the roof was covered with slates, but it has since been replaced with sheeting. Each cottage has internal dimensions of 3.6 meters by 3.9 meters. The roof is supported by the cross walls and a single truss in the center of each cottage, with the trusses featuring a lapped and pegged collar beam. Both cottages maintain their original door openings, and the left cottage still has its original round-headed window opening, although it is partly blocked.
