Description
St. Mary's Churchyard Wall is constructed of local rubble masonry and varies in height. The wall has been altered or rebuilt in sections, as it connects to the 19th-century stable building of the old Vicarage and the remaining 19th-century almshouses on the west side. On the north and west sides, there are cast-iron gates set between gatepiers, with the northern gates being double. A blocked gateway is located at the rear of the old almshouses near the northern gates. Additionally, there is an arched gateway in a raised section of the south wall, featuring a timber gate that leads to the old Vicarage. At the end of the old almshouses, there is a large horse-mounting block with two flights of steps.
