Description
Saint Lawrence House is a former rectory built in the 19th century, featuring roughcast walls and slate roofs with brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high with a two-window front range and a large rear wing. The front elevation has a raised plinth and two 12-pane sash windows on each floor. The left end wall includes a 4-panel door on the left with a 4-pane overlight above it, along with a 12-pane sash window on each floor. There is a datestone from 1856 located on the plinth to the left of the front.
To the left, a parallel gable is set back and has a 12-pane sash window on each floor, along with a red brick ridge stack. The rear wing features a prominent stone end chimney and a two-window range of narrow 12-pane sashes, with a small pair of inserted casement windows at the centre of the ground floor. The interior plan is of some interest, with an end entry leading to a passage that provides access to the stairs located behind the front rooms.
