Description

Ford Bridge is a road bridge constructed from rubble stone, featuring three arches with cut-stone voussoirs and a recessed thin arch ring. The keystone of the southern arch on the eastern side is dated 1793. Each side of the bridge has a triangular cutwater topped with cut stone and a sloping rubble surface. The parapets are finished with end-on stone copings, and in the center of the eastern parapet, there is a plaque marking the boundary of St Dogwells and Hayscastle parish. The parapet curves outward at the northwest end.
