Description

Nantycoy Mill is a mill and mill-house constructed from rubble stone and topped with slate roofs. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with the house positioned at right angles to the mill. The house features a double-fronted design, stone end stacks, and 20th-century nine-pane windows, with smaller windows located above. The entrance includes a 20th-century panelled centre door, and the structure has slate voussoirs and sills. There is a 20th-century one-bay addition on the left end of the house.

The mill, located at right angles to the house, displays a plaque reading "J.E. 1844" above its 20th-century double doors, which are set in a widened opening that retains original stone voussoirs. To the right of the mill, there is a slightly lower added section featuring a double band of red brick doveholes, which are interrupted by a central square window with 20th-century nine-pane glazing. The doveholes are arched and include slate shelves. The ground floor has a door with a slab lintel, and there is one window on the right end wall. Adjacent to this is a small one-storey outbuilding with a window and door, followed by a pigsty with a single-pitch roof.

The rear wall of the mill houses a 13-foot 6-inch iron overshot water wheel. Above the wheel shaft, there is one window with a slab lintel, and below the eaves, there is a square window with 20th-century nine-pane glazing. Additionally, the rear wall of the added section contains two small doveholes.
