Description

The Vicarage is a house dated to the 18th century, built of roughcast rubble stone with slate hipped roofs. It has a T-shaped plan. The shorter, three-window south front range does not contain the main entrance, which is located in the longer, three-window rear wing. Upper floor windows are nine-pane sashes, while ground floor windows have twelve panes. A late 19th-century canted bay with a heavy cornice and plate glass sashes has been added to the right side of the south front range, which also features a blank ground floor window in the centre. A single window bay extends from the east end wall, with dummy sashes. The west end wall is windowless. Two roughcast chimneys stand on the rear wall. The rear range, with a roughcast ridge stack, faces east. A six-panel door with an overlight is located in the left bay of the rear range. The north end wall has a single ground floor nine-pane sash window. The rear west side of the wing has been altered, featuring 20th-century windows – one on each floor to the right side, behind the front range; a stair light to the right of centre; and a 20th-century porch on the left. The return rear wall of the front range is windowless. An attached, single-storey outbuilding, constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof, is located at the west end of the front range. The property was not inspected.
