Description
The entrance walls and gatepiers form part of the historic setting of Roch Castle. Constructed of rock-faced stone, the walls include a heavy rock-faced string course and copings. Two gatepiers support wooden gates, flanked by short lengths of wall leading to two slightly higher, large, rounded bastions, which are hollow within. The wall extends eastward and terminates at an arched doorway with stone coping that is ramped over. A white marble war memorial plaque has been reset into the wall on the right. A short, curving section of wall extends westward.
