Description
Great Rudbaxton is a farmhouse that features a stucco exterior designed to resemble ashlar, with slate roofs that have close eaves and rendered end stacks. The building is two stories tall and has a three-window main facade. It includes 4-pane horned sash windows that are well-spaced, with the outer windows positioned relatively close to the end walls. The entrance door is slightly to the left of the center window; it is a six-panel door with four glazed panels and a narrow overlight above. There is another 4-pane sash window located between the door and the right window, and all windows have slate sills.
To the right of the main house is a lower service wing, which has an end stack and similar sashes, including one on the first floor and two on the ground floor, with the left window possibly replacing a former door. An outbuilding is attached to the right, featuring a door and a window. The end wall of this outbuilding is made of rubble stone and has a window on the ground floor and a loft light. The rear of the service wing includes a single-storey range that is positioned at right angles to the main house.
On the rear of the main house, there is a projecting stair gable located to the right of center, which has 4-pane windows serving the attic and landing levels. There is a smaller sash window on the first floor to the right and a larger 4-pane sash to the left. The ground floor features a pair of casement windows on the left side, along with a door and a small adjacent window, while the right side has a large 20th-century glazed opening. The end wall also has a small loft light with plastic glazing. The property is not available for inspection.
