Description

The outbuilding range at Kingston Farm, located to the southeast of the old farmhouse, is a group of rubble stone structures topped with slate roofs. The lofted building at the northeast end is positioned at right angles to the single-storey range and features a stone-vaulted ground floor. The tall northwest gable end faces the farm track and includes small stone loop windows on each floor, with the upper window having a dripstone. The left side wall has a small square window for the loft on the left. The southwest gable end, which faces the farmyard, has ground floor masonry that extends forward of the upper gable masonry, indicating that the vaulted structure is older than the loft above. There is a door with a stone lintel on this side, and the right side of the southwest elevation has a loft door, which is at right angles to the single-storey farm range.

The long single-storey range on the southwest has whitewashed rubble walls and a close-eaved slate roof. The northwest front features three wide cart entrances with oak lintels located under the eaves towards the left end, while the rest of the façade is windowless. There is a large 20th-century opening in the upper northeast gable end. The rear southeast elevation, made of rubble stone, has three openings at the upper left end, with timber lintels; the broader center opening has been blocked as a window.

Inside, the vaulted ground floor showcases a curved rubble stone barrel vault and a deep splayed reveal for the end-wall loop window. The added range contains pine pegged collar trusses and previously had a dividing wall between the cartsheds and the upper end.
