Description
The Saundersfoot Railway Tunnel (South) connects The Strand in Saundersfoot to Coppet Hall. It is part of a series of tunnels, with the northern and middle tunnels continuing north past Coppet Hall.
The northern portal and partial lining of the tunnel are made from local Carboniferous sandstone. In areas where firmer rock was found, the native rock remains unlined. The lining of the tunnel is generally 0.3 meters thick, with a width of 2.4 meters and walls that rise 1.2 meters vertically to a semicircular vault. The total length of the tunnel is approximately 50 meters, with most of it lined.
