Description

Blackpool Bridge is a Grade II* listed structure primarily made of limestone, with some sandstone mixed into the masonry. The bridge features a single semicircular arch that spans approximately 16 meters. The arch is constructed with ashlar voussoirs that are about 60 centimeters deep. There is no keystone; instead, at the apex of the arch, there is a short pilaster that ends in a raised section of coping topped with a ball. The carriageway of the bridge is notably wide, measuring about 5.5 meters between the parapets, and the approaches to the bridge rise gently towards the center.
