Description
The Pumphouse Tower, located in the grounds of Warpool Court Hotel, is a late 19th-century structure designed as a folly tower. It is built from rubble stone and features decorative elements in red and black brick. The tower has a corbelled stone parapet with a red brick corbel table. The west side showcases a broad and low arch composed of three orders, with a black brick outer arch and a red brick inner arch, alternating colors throughout. The low jambs are made of red brick on the outer and inner sides, with black brick in between. Access to the north side is via eroded steps or a ramp leading to a doorway with black brick jambs and a plain red brick arch. The interior is roofless and contains a derelict cast-iron pump.
