Description
Island Farmhouse is a two-storey building divided into two sections, dating from the mid-19th century. The upper end features whitewashed slate-hung walls and has been altered in the later 19th century. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble with a slate roof and a stone end stack.
The upper end has four-pane sash windows and a four-panel door with an overlight, positioned well to the right. The door is accessed through a broad porch, which has a flat slate slab supported by two turned wood columns and a shallow arched fascia. There is an outshut at the rear, and the front garden is enclosed by a rubble wall with an iron gate.
The lower service range has a wider spacing between the two left windows compared to the two on the right, all of which are four-pane sashes. The upper windows have painted brick heads and concrete sills, while the lower ones may feature stone voussoirs and rough slate sills. The fourth window on the right is set slightly lower. An outbuilding is located at the eastern end, featuring a grouted slate roof and a single door.
