Description

West Moor Farmhouse is a double pile house, with the rear part possibly dating back to before 1812. The building has two storeys and features a range of three windows on the north-facing front. The front and side elevations are rendered and scored, while the rear elevation is constructed of random rubble. The rear windows have been altered. The farmhouse has end chimneys topped with brick stacks.

The front features 12-pane windows with hornless sashes and thin glazing bars. The front door consists of six fielded panels and is framed by a doorway with Tuscan pilasters and a simplified open pediment. The doorway includes panelled reveals and an archivolt, topped with a plain fanlight that is partly set within the pediment. There are three slate steps leading up to the door.

To the left, there is a high wall enclosing the farmyard, and to the right, a low stone wall borders the lane, which includes a five-bar gate.

Inside, the front left room (east) has a framed furniture recess in the rear wall and a decorative plaster ceiling cornice. At the back of the hallway, there is a dogleg staircase featuring turned newels, square balusters, and a cut string with string-brackets. This staircase is said to have been relocated from a different position, although it is now in a conventional location.
