Description
No 1 Rhyd is a two-storey building constructed from whitewashed rubble stone with a slate roof and brick end stacks. The front features three windows with plate glass sashes that have marginal glazing bars, along with a centrally located ledged door. All openings are adorned with recessed painted voussoirs and keystones, and there are slate sills beneath the windows. At the center rear, there is an arched stair light, while a first-floor window to the left has been blocked. The ground floor includes a lean-to, with the rear wall built into the bank. A single-storey rear wing extends to the northwest and has a north end stack. The west side of the wing has two windows and a door. The north end fireplace features a plaster fire-hood on a timber beam. The building was noted to be in poor condition in 1995.
