Description
Rock Mills is a woollen mill constructed from rubble stone, featuring a slate roof and a stone stack at the right end. The building stands two storeys high, with the left end elevated significantly above the river, and it has an exceptionally broad iron waterwheel located at the basement level. The front of the mill has five windows, each with 12 panes, slate sills, cambered heads supported by stone voussoirs below, and timber lintels above. There is a door located in the second bay from the left. The rear of the mill is similar in design but is partially obscured by a 20th-century addition. Additionally, there is a 20th-century lean-to on the right end. As of 1992, the mill retains complete working machinery, including a carding set, mule, and willey, making it the last operational woollen mill in Cardiganshire. The waterwheel is marked with "Bridgend Foundry, Cardigan."
