Description
6 Belle Vue Terrace is a two-storey, three-window classical building of roughcast construction, dating to the 18th century. It comprises seven properties, with a hipped roof pavilion projecting forward to the southeast (at No. 1). The buildings have plinths, pilaster strips at the ends, and a cill band at Nos. 4 and 7. The slate roofs have wide boarded eaves, cement rendering, and three rubble chimney stacks. Most windows are 12-pane sashes with lugged architraves and ornamental keystones; No. 1 has 16-pane sashes on the ground floor, No. 7 has ground-floor windows without glazing bars, and No. 8 has plain architraves. The entrances are arched, with architraves and keystones, some being panelled with ornamental keystones. The recessed doors are six-panelled, with five-pane fanlights, except for No. 1, which has a six-pane fanlight, and Nos. 7 and 8, which have three-panel doors.
The left end wall of No. 1, facing Bridge Street, is roughcast with 12-pane sash windows matching the front. No. 6 has a plain roughcast end wall, while No. 7 has a rubble end wall, both facing the side land (which provides access to the rear via two boarded doors). Cobbled pavements are present at the front of Nos. 1 and 5. The houses to the right are not of architectural significance.
