Description
Plynlymon Hall, which includes Caerleon, is a Gothic-inspired building featuring a symmetrical design with four storeys and a basement. The facade is constructed from snecked rubble and has three window bays, with freestanding banding. The roof is slate, complemented by stock brick chimney stacks and moulded brick eaves. The windows are horned sash types, with stilted heads on the third floor arranged in pairs and triplets. There are three-storey splayed bay windows topped with large dentil cornices and foliated capitals, except for Caerleon, which has cylindrical shafts and trefoil punched aprons. The central second-floor windows have blind pointed heads, and the central entrances are arched with fanlights above half-glazed and panelled doors. The basement has been partially blocked up.
