Description
The barn range at Penygraig is a Grade II listed building consisting of outbuildings made from rubble stone, featuring a corrugated iron roof on the barn and an asbestos sheet roof on the lofted cowhouse. The barn has central doors positioned under raised eaves and a catslide roof. It includes two vent loops on the left side, one on the right, and a cart-entry with a timber lintel, which is located under the eaves due to the slope of the ground. There is a loft door in the upper end wall, while the lower end wall features weatherboarding in the gable and is attached to the lofted cowhouse. The cowhouse has two doors on the right and one on the left, all with timber lintels, and the door heads step down the hill. Just to the right of the left door, there is a square loft opening under the eaves.
The barn has a four-bay roof supported by tie-beam and collar trusses with triple purlins. There is a loft over the cart-shed on the right side, and the cow-shed includes a central feed passage.
