Llandinam Institute

The Llandinam Institute is a two-storey building constructed in the 19th century. The ground floor is made of hard red Buttington type brick, while the upper floor features a timber frame with plastered infill panels and is jettied. The building has slated roofs and presents a symmetrical elevation to Waulk Mill Lane. The main entrance is located on the left side, leading into a five-bay meeting hall at the rear. To the right of the passage is a triangular library, which now serves as a meeting room, also symmetrical in design and featuring corner towers. Attached to the southwest corner of the meeting hall is a rectangular two-storey caretaker's house.

The round-arched entrance is heavily quoined with stone and has a recessed pair of boarded doors. A centrally positioned canted bay window is found on the Waulk Mill Lane elevation. There is a secondary entrance with a timber canopied porch located in the southwest tower. The building features hardwood windows with transoms and leaded glazing, with openings adorned with radial brick voussoirs. Moulded brick details transition from the octagonal bases of the towers to their circular upper levels, which include moulded plaster panels. A central five-light transomed oriel window with a bellied sill is present, and the round towers have similar windows and conical roofs topped with ironwork finials. The main hall at the rear is illuminated by double transomed hardwood windows with leaded lights.

Inside, the entrance hall is lined with glazed brick and features a high panelled dado. The hall has wide span trusses that open to collar level and includes a hatch to the servery at the far end.
