Description

These outbuildings, located on the north and east sides of the farm court at Tredomen Court, comprise a barn and an attached lower range. The barn likely dates to the 18th century and is constructed of rubble stone, partly whitewashed, with an asbestos sheet roof. The south front is whitewashed and features tall upper bays divided by rubble stone piers, originally probably boarded, now clad with 20th-century corrugated sheeting. It has two sets of high double doors, each with a dove-opening above and a pent roof, alternating with three sets of two upper openings. The north front has two full-height doorways with double barn doors. The barn incorporates vent loops arranged in two rows – two rows of two at the outer ends and two rows of three in the centre. The west gable end has three tiers of vent loops: three at the bottom, two above, and one in the gable, with a similar arrangement on the east end.

Attached at a right angle to the southeast corner of the barn is a lower, lofted range, also of rubble stone with an asbestos sheet roof. This range has a single, central square loft opening. The ground floor features a window, door, door, and window, all detailed with cut grey sandstone voussoirs; the loft window is positioned above the first of the two doors. Stone sills are present throughout.

Inside the barn, eight tie-beam-and-collar trusses are visible. The attached stable range is divided by a stone wall, with three exposed beams to the left section and two to the right, all of which are chamfered.
