Description
Steppe House is a house constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof, featuring a brick central ridge stack and plain 19th-century end bargeboards. The building has one storey and an attic, with the front wall being whitewashed. The south gable has a plain bargeboard. There are two small gabled dormers on the eaves; the left dormer contains a pair of timber casement windows, while the right dormer has a pair of iron casement windows.
On the ground floor, from left to right, there are two pairs of casement windows with iron small-paned glazing and painted brick cambered arches above. In the centre, there is a possibly inserted timber casement pair and a narrow part-glazed door, which is accessed from a stone terrace via a flight of stone steps with iron railings. This door aligns with the ridge chimney. To the right, there is a small casement pair with an iron opening light and a slightly larger window with fixed glazing, both featuring brick cambered heads.
The right end wall is partly made of brick, with the upper half containing a cambered-headed iron casement pair in the gable. The ground floor has a modern painted brick addition. The left end wall, made of rubble stone, has a timber window in the gable. Inside, the northern end room features a stopped and chamfered beam along with straight square joists.
