Description

This war memorial, designed as a horse trough and drinking fountain, is primarily made of concrete. It features a rectangular cistern with a heavy lid, which is topped by a metal sword. To the left, away from the church, there is a bowl for the drinking fountain that is built into an ogee support. The inscription on the memorial, facing the road, reads in capital letters: "The Great War 1914-1918, 1939-1945, This memorial is erected by the grateful Village of Norton, to commemorate the names of its faithful sons, who fought and died for England and Liberty."
