Description
Prest-dabuan is a timber-framed barn situated on a rubble stone platform, topped with a slate roof that is partly missing. The walls feature simple box-framing, with brick nogging on the eastern wall facing the field and weatherboarding on the other sides, which is now partly missing. The eastern wall includes double boarded doors beneath a wooden lintel, while the western wall has a lower winnowing doorway. The southern gable end is connected to a rubble stone cow house that has a corrugated iron roof. On the western side, which faces a former track, there is a wide full-height opening. The gable end features a loft opening under a wooden lintel, and the eastern side has two lintelled manure-pitching holes.
Inside, the barn retains two pairs of cruck trusses, spaced wider than the central threshing bay. These crucks have lap-jointed collars and beams that indicate the presence of former upper floors. The cow house contains a simple, crudely worked truss and has a partly cobbled floor. A former loft in the cow house has been removed.
