Description
The building is an L-plan group consisting of a stable, byre, and corn barn ranges at Fold Farm, dating back to an unspecified period. It features a high brick gable end facing the road. This two-storey range is constructed partly of red brick and partly of box frame construction, with wattle and daub infill and some weatherboard cladding on the upper floor. The roof is made of corrugated iron and has a simple tie-beam structure that includes long raking windbraces cutting through the rafters.
The main gable end, which may have originally had a steeper pitch, has raised brickwork at the apex with a lozenge-shaped date stone, a blocked segmental-headed opening, and a brick stringcourse. There are four segmentally headed door openings on the side elevation and a wide opening on the rear elevation.
A four-bay barn forms the cross range, which also has brick walls up to the first floor level, while the upper walls are of box frame construction with weatherboard cladding. The roof is tiled and corrugated. The first bay of the wing features large doorways leading to a slabbed floor. This building is noted as the earliest dated brick building in Radnor, although its condition is deteriorating.
