Description
Buarth-bachog is a two-storey farmhouse built in the 19th century, featuring a lobby-entry plan. It is constructed from local axe-dressed uncoursed masonry and has a roof covered with small slates, a tile ridge, and a single stone chimney. The house faces southeast towards its farmyard, with the small slates still visible on the front elevation and the upper part of the rear. A single-storey rear lean-to has been added using similar materials, which includes a tall brick chimney stack, and there is a small porch located at the angle between this extension and the original house. Overgrown sheds are present at the left end.
On the front elevation, the main door is positioned to the left, next to the chimney, and there are three-light windows with iron opening lights. The lower openings feature segmental brick arches.
The rear and right gable of the house are painted cream, with two two-light windows in the gable elevation and three-light small-pane windows in the rear extension. This two-unit plan is typical of many small farmhouses and cottages in Montgomeryshire, with the lobby entrance located next to its end chimney.
