Description
This is the second outbuilding to Gwydyr House, constructed with a brick wall featuring two distinctive bands of headers, divided by pilasters that have moulded caps and raking finials. It has a curved brick plinth above a dentilled cornice. The two buildings are symmetrically planned and appear to be integrally built with the wall; they are single storeyed with gables facing the street. Both buildings are also made of brick, with the gable wall of the butcher’s shop on the left rendered, and they have red plain tiled roofs. The gables are elaborately treated, featuring moulded kneelers at the copings and a squat finial at the apex. These architectural details reflect those found on Gwydyr House, indicating that these outbuildings were constructed to serve it. While most openings have been renewed, an oculus remains in the apex of the right-hand building.
