Description
The ice-house at Plas Power is a circular structure built from red brick, topped with a conical slate roof. On the northern side, there is a large porch with a gable end, resting on a base of coursed rubble. The transition to brickwork suggests that the structure was enlarged at a later date. Above the outer entrance, there is a stone lintel leading to steps that descend into the ice chamber.
Inside, the ice chamber is domed and lined with brick. It features a round-headed entrance arch that slopes and curves inward, creating intricate brickwork, with a stone sill at the base. On either side of the entrance, there are concave recesses.
