Description
Henblas is a 2-storey building with an attic, constructed with line-out render over brick and topped with an old graded slate roof. It features projecting end wall stacks and coped gables. The façade has a 3-window range with a central entrance. The entrance consists of a 6-panelled door, which is partially glazed, set within a moulded architrave that has panelled rebates and scrolled brackets supporting an entablature. The date on the entablature was recently painted, based on the original datestone found in a chimney. The ground floor windows on either side of the entrance are wood mullioned and transomed, extending to the floor, while the upper windows are 16-pane hornless sashes. There is a single gabled dormer window in the attic, and the building features fretted bargeboards.
The internal layout includes a central entrance hall with stairs that are offset to the rear, and the principal rooms are located on either side. Most of the internal details appear to date from around 1900, but the deep moulded plaster cornices, including panelled beams, may indicate earlier work.
