Description
The White House is a two-storey building featuring three windows, constructed from brown brick that has been painted white, with a hipped tile roof. The front elevation showcases an advanced central splayed bay that contains the entrance, with ground floor windows that have lintels painted black and a later door topped with a clear fanlight. On the first floor, there are three six-pane sash windows.
At the rear, there are remnants of a former cruciform red brick range dating from the early 18th century, with three wings still standing. A massive central brick stack and a slate roof are present, along with later brick additions. While many original window openings remain, all windows have been replaced from the 19th century onwards.
The early 18th-century section retains exposed chamfered and stopped beams, along with evidence of a large internal kitchen stack. Throughout the building, there are plank and latched doors. The early 19th-century phase includes several well-preserved four-panelled doors and a simple staircase with stick balusters.
