Bethel Calvinistic Methodist Chapel

Bethel Calvinistic Methodist Chapel is a rectangular chapel built in 1865. It features a three-bay pedimented façade facing the street, constructed of brown brick with ashlar quoins that are now painted white. The gable has a pediment and an inserted datestone reading 'AD 1865'. There is a moulded stone cornice and a slate roof. The central double doorway has an ashlar architrave, also painted white, with a window on either side that has a similar ashlar architrave. The windows have frosted glazing with margin lights and coloured glass. Above, an ashlar string course supports three additional windows that match those below. The side elevations are made of rubble stone and each has five windows with a glazing pattern similar to the front.

Inside, the chapel has a simple classical design without a gallery. The entrance porch leads to two doors into the main chapel. The interior features pitch pine pews arranged in two side aisles facing a centrally placed 'set fawr', which is above a recessed arch with a moulded architrave and decorative plaster consoles. The 'set fawr' platform is surrounded by carved wooden balustrading. All windows showcase distinctive detailing, including a moulded cornice with consoles. The window jambs are adorned with slim plaster architrave, finished at the cill level with plasterwork depicting a classical female head. The ceiling is divided into five sections, each containing a decorative ceiling rose.
