Description

Pistyll Farmhouse is a 17th-century building constructed of rubble with a medium-pitched slate roof that has slightly oversailing eaves and tiled copings on the gable ends. It features wide, projecting end stacks with plain chimneys, one of which is made of modern brick. The entrance is off-centre and has a recessed, boarded door with a 2-centred arch and a plain fan above it. Flanking the entrance are tripartite windows with pointed arched heads made of tooled ashlar and projecting stone cills. The windows have contemporary fixed casements, featuring an opening 4-pane central section and Y-tracery heads. The first floor has similar two-light windows, and above the entrance, there is a square-headed window that is near-flush with an exposed timber lintel. The building has a rendered plinth. To the right, there is a contemporary single-storey addition with a slate roof, which is set back and has a modern brick-rendered front with modern doors flanking a modern window. The rear of the building has modern windows, some of which have cambered heads, and there is evidence of the building being raised.
