Description

The Former Vicarage is a two-storey building designed in an L shape, constructed from coursed and squared limestone rubble stone with tooled sandstone window dressings, including hood moulds and projecting sills. It features a slate roof with dressed stone axial and gable-end chimneys that have moulded caps, along with decorative barge-boards. The windows are small pane hornless sash types.

The main range of the building faces east towards the garden, while the entrance wing is located to the west. There is a lower 1½ storey service wing that is set back to the right and is partially concealed by a short screen wall. The entrance front is oriented to the north, showcasing an advanced gable on the left side with a 12-pane window on the ground floor, a 9-pane window above, and a narrow light in the gable apex. The entrance is located at the return angle and features an arched 4-light door with glazed upper panels. A 3-bay slate-roofed canopy porch supported by ornate framed lattice timber pillars with carved spandrels encloses a paved area along the entrance wing. To the right of the entrance, there is a single window on each floor, with a 12-pane sash on the ground floor and a 9-pane window above. The lower wing to the right has an additional door and later windows on both the ground and first floors.

The garden elevation on the left consists of two bays, each with matching 15-pane windows on the ground floor and 9-pane windows above. The rear elevation features windows with brick heads, including a stair window in the main wing, two windows in the side wing, and a later casement window in the lower wing on the left side. A stone wall attached to the rear of the Vicarage partially encloses the garden area at the back and side.

Although not inspected, it is reported that the building retains its original layout and fittings, including the main stair, fireplaces, panelled doors, and shutters.
