Description
St Dyfnog's Well is a sunken rectangular bath or basin, measuring approximately 3 meters by 6 meters, with dressed sandstone sides. At the northeast corner, there are four sandstone steps that lead down into the basin. The southeast corner features an irregular outlet with a segmental arch made of rough-dressed limestone, located about 2 meters away. This arch bridges a stream that flows from the basin through the outlet and continues down the hill, passing the churchyard on the south side. Water enters the basin at the west end, where there is a natural spring within a cave, accompanied by an irregular arrangement of dressed and rough-dressed sections of stone, which likely relate to a former built structure associated with the well.
