Description

Groes-Gwta Farmhouse is an L-shaped, two-storey farmhouse constructed of whitened rubble with a slate roof. It features end chimneys, including a large, projecting, gabled chimney on the west gable of the main block and a brick chimney on the gable end of a later addition. The main entrance, located on the east side, is accessed by four stone steps leading up to a raised, near-central entrance. This entrance is framed by a wooden gabled and slated porch with latticed upper sides and an open front, and it has a boarded door with a two-part overlight above a segmentally-arched opening.

On either side of the entrance are flanking six-pane sash windows with cambered brick heads; the right window has brick quoins. There is a similar window on the first floor to the right, and an eight-pane casement window on the first floor to the left. The left corner of the primary range's gable features a large rubble corner buttress. The northwest side, which faces the farm, has a low rubble wall that partly encloses a small yard. The main range includes a cambered entrance to the left, with a six-pane unhorned sash window to the right, also with a cambered head. Above, there are two eight-pane casement windows under the eaves. The rear of the later block has two narrow two-pane windows with brick quoins.

To the south, there is a dairy outshut facing the road, which has a slightly raised roof pitch. The east return of this outshut features a four-pane sliding sash window on the ground floor and an eight-pane casement window above. Additionally, a short stretch of whitened wall adjoins the outshut and extends eastward along the road until it meets a hedge. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
