Description
The garden walls at Tros-y-Parc are constructed of limestone rubble and brick, using English Garden Wall bond, with stone copings. There are two main sections of the walls. The first section runs parallel to Ystrad Road on the east side, extending north from its junction with the walls that front Llys-y-Coed, which continue southward. This section is primarily made of stone, although the upper third is brick with slab copings. It encloses the southern part of the garden on the west side, connecting to the house and curving around behind it to create a small service court that includes two 20th-century garages. The main section features a large depressed-arched entrance with slatted wooden half-gates, as well as a smaller entrance with an iron gate. The second section curves around to follow the lane to Brookhouse, defining the northeast garden boundary. This part is made of brick, with the lower section partly of limestone rubble, and both stretches are notably tall, with the northeast section reaching a maximum height of over 4 meters on the lower, road side.
