Description

This is a two-storey, five-window house built in red brick with accents of blue brick, dating from 1807 and remodelled in 1843. It has a slate roof with a ventilation cupola. The symmetrical front features tall arched windows with twelve panes, detailed with voussoirs and fan tracery. Steps lead to a central arched entrance with a fanlight above double panelled doors, flanked by Doric columns. A plaque above the entrance indicates the build and remodel dates. The right gable-end features scribed rendered brickwork, quoins, a billet cornice, and rusticated brickwork on the ground floor below the cill band. A deeply advanced and lower projecting central bay has a pedimented gable end with a large round window, now blocked, above double panelled doors; fluted brackets rest on a band course above.

To the left, projecting forward to the street, is a two-storey and basement one-window brick former chapel house, also with a slate roof and a central rendered chimney stack. It has small-pane sash windows with lintels, as well as a boarded basement door and panelled double doors on the right, accessed by parallel steps. A modern basement window is present to the left, along with alterations. It is noted that the interior of the chapel had fittings removed after it ceased use in the 1970s.
