Description
The New Inn is a two-storey building constructed of brown brick with rubbled brick dressings and a hipped slate roof, topped by a high blocking course. The front features a prominent three-window pavilion block facing the street, with a narrower four-window range wing at the rear. The central entrance is set back in a concave archway, which has a distinctive horizontally fluted moulding. There is a similar doorway on the left-hand side, and a relieving arch for a possible additional entrance on the right-hand side, which has been converted into a window. The flanking windows are round-arched small-paned metal sashes with radial glazing bars, while the upper windows have a flat arch and a similar design. The building also has a moulded plinth, a scalloped concrete string course, and a high parapet at the eaves featuring ribbed decoration at the corners and raised panelwork. The rear wing is made of grey brick and has an advanced lower storey on the right-hand side, along with wooden casement windows.
