Description

13 and 14 St Peter's Square is a pair of shops with houses above, built in the 19th century. The building is a three-storey block with three windows, where the central windows are slightly offset to the right. It is made of pale grey coursed stone and features shallow slate roofs, with brick stacks located at the left end and right of the center.

Number 13 has a two-window range. Its projecting shop front sits on a stone plinth and has a hipped tiled roof. The entrance is inset and splayed, featuring a half-glazed door with a plain overlight. The shop windows are plate glass, arranged in two lights, and are supported by slender cast iron columns at the corners, which have small decorative motifs at mid-level and capitals adorned with the Prince of Wales feathers. The fascia above the shop front is modern.

The south gable end of the building is constructed of rubble stone and has no openings. To the right, there is an adjoining gable end with a doorway offset to the right, featuring a segmental brick head. The first floor has a two-light wooden casement window that is offset to the left. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to added in the late 20th century, along with plain-glazed wooden casement windows that are either two or three lights, arranged asymmetrically. The interior has not been seen.
