Description

Trefri Fawr is a building that consists of one storey plus an attic and features three windows. It is constructed from grey-brown rubble with a slate roof and has a raking gable parapet on the left side. There is a stone chimney on the left gable and another ridge chimney towards the right. The building has three stone gabled dormers, with windows positioned across the eaves; the right dormer window is slightly deeper than the others, the left dormer has horned sash glazing, while the other two have casement windows.

The entrance doorway is roughly central and camber-headed, featuring long stone voussoirs. To the left of the doorway is a similar window with casement glazing, and to the right is another window, which was once a doorway, that is less well built and has horned sash glazing. Between the door and the current windows are small squarish blocked windows. The right gable has a camber-headed window on both the first and second floors. At the rear, there are two stone-built wings; the right (east) wing serves as a cartshed, while the left (west) wing is a kitchen.

Inside, the entrance hall has stairs directly opposite the door and a large chimney to the right, which heats the east room. This room has beams set into the walls and axial beams, indicating that a floor has been inserted in this section. The room to the west has a lateral beam and is said to have a large boxed-in fireplace, along with a further staircase towards the front of the building. The roof structure is ceiled, and the trusses are covered.
