Description
Cefn Camberth is a small country house that stands two storeys high with attics. It features a front range built in the mid 19th century and a later L-shaped rear wing constructed in 1871. Both sections are made of rubble stone; the front range consists of large, roughly coursed blocks, while the rear wing is built from random rubble with larger quoins. The roofs are covered in slate, with the front range having a half-hipped design and stone ridge stacks.
The three-bay front range has 12-pane horned sash windows, which are larger on the lower storey, and a blind central bay. The entrance is located on the right-hand side of the southeast end wall, which is finished in scribed roughcast. This entrance features an added flat-roof porch with a replacement door and a round-headed sash window on the side wall. Above the porch, there is a 4-pane horned sash window and a central replacement attic window. The left-hand northwest end wall contains an original 4-pane horned sash window in the attic, and between the front range and the rear wing, there is a two-storey canted bay window with 4-pane sashes.
The rear wing, which is set back to the left, serves as the two-window southwest entrance elevation of the house after its rebuilding in 1871. It has segmental-headed windows with brick dressings and 4-pane sash windows that are not aligned between storeys. The attic features a single gabled dormer with a pendant finial. The entrance is located on the left side within a gabled porch, which includes a round-headed doorway with brick dressings, a boarded door, and a plain overlight, also topped with a pendant finial. Above the porch, there is a gabled freestone bellcote that houses a single bell and bears the inscription 'MTP 1871'. The four-window rear elevation has similar detailing, with a gable on the left side. The two-window southeast elevation of the rear wing features a central panelled door beneath a narrow overlight and 4-pane sash windows. The rear of the front range has a 12-pane sash window that illuminates the stairwell.
