Description

This is a long terrace of ten cottages, forming a group. Each cottage has its own small, forecourt garden enclosed by a low rubble wall and a small fence. The cottages are built of rubble stone, now covered with a modern slate roof and have simple end chimneys with decorative cornice bands. Cottages number one and two are raised higher than the others and share a continuous roofline, while cottages number three to ten are under a separate, shared roof. Cottages three, four and five have been rendered and painted white. Cottages six, eight, nine and ten have modern, single-storey, gabled porches. All the front doors are modern and mostly feature glazed panels. The windows are also modern; those in cottages one, two, three, seven, nine and ten are reproductions of original sixteen-pane sash windows without horns, while the windows in cottages four, five, six and eight are simpler sash replacements. Modern extensions have been added to the rear of all the cottages.
