Description
The Masonic Hall is a 2-storey building constructed of snecked rock-faced stone, featuring larger quoins, monolithic rock-faced dressings, a raised plat band, and a hipped slate roof at the front. The front facade has three bays, with a central entrance that includes a Tuscan portico and the words 'MASONIC HALL' displayed in metal letters across the entablature. The entrance features a wide panelled door. The windows are 4-pane horned sashes located on both the front and side walls. The right side wall facing Lombard Street has five windows on the upper storey and two on the lower storey. The left side wall has two windows in each storey at the right end, while the left side of the wall and the rear gable end are rendered with impressed small stones.
The forecourt is enclosed by a dwarf wall topped with slate coping, and it features railings that create an open arcade of round arches with simple finials. The central entrance has double gates, and the railings include the Masonic symbol of crossed dividers on either side. At the left end of the forecourt is a monolithic rock-faced gate pier with a pyramidal cap, which supports a single gate that is hinged on the wall of the adjacent house. Additionally, there is a later iron gate attached to the left angle of the front.
