Description
5 Eldon Terrace is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a two-window stucco front that shares classical details with other similar terraces in Upper Bangor. The adjacent properties, Nos 1 to 4, are designed as reflected pairs. The building has a slate roof with boarded eaves, and No 3 has dentilled detailing. It includes brick and rendered chimney stacks, gabled slate-hung dormers, and a mix of sash and casement windows, with Nos 3 and 4 showcasing splayed bay windows.
Nos 1, 3, and 5 retain stucco wreath motifs above an advanced entablature, which is adorned with an egg and dart cornice and end pilasters featuring acanthus foliage. Most windows are framed with moulded architraves and bracket cills, complemented by stucco lintel ornament. Each pair of houses has an overall doorcase with Ionic pilasters, a cornice, and foliage-carved brackets, including No 5. The doorways are recessed, with half-glazed doors for Nos 1 and 2, and twin-arched panelled doors for Nos 3 to 5.
The front walls are made of rubble and support ornate cast iron railings with intersecting pointed arches, although the railings have been removed from No 5. There is also stucco ornamentation above the door leading to the side passage.
