Description
Aber Ferry House is a single-storey, double-fronted ferry house built in a castellated style. It is constructed of coursed dressed stone and features diagonal buttresses. The hipped slate roof is set behind an embattled parapet, with a stone stack located on the left side. At the center, there is a shallow splayed porch that also has diagonal buttresses, which contains a replaced door and a pointed overlight. The windows on the right and left sides have pointed heads with hood moulds and have been replaced with casement windows. The right end wall features a single window similar to those at the front, with a metal-framed casement. This window is flanked by recessed shields; the right shield bears the date 1822, while the left shield displays the monogram 'RT' and is inscribed with 'the greatest drown'. Stone steps lead down to a basement that has two blocked openings. The left side wall has an inserted window to the left of the stack, and there is a single-storey rear projection that is rendered.
