Description
The Anchor is a four-storey domestic building from the 19th century, designed in a Mediterranean style. It features stuccoed elevations and a hipped pantiled roof with a shallow pitch and slightly feathered eaves. The symmetrical main elevation on the east side has four bays, with a rubble ground floor that includes large flat-arched openings resembling an arcade, which are fitted with slatted wooden gates. The upper floors have four full-length sash windows with six panes each, featuring only horizontal glazing bars. There are open faux iron balconies shared between the outer bays. The two-bay south return has 12-pane sash windows on the three upper floors. Access to the Anchor is via a bridge at first floor level, along with steps leading from the road. Additionally, there is a mural to the right of the road-facing elevation.
