Description
Tyn-y-llan is an 18th-century, two-storey house built from mortared rubble masonry and limewashed. It features a single bay wing, which was originally a single storey, on the north side, along with added outbuildings. The house has a modern slate roof with small gabled half-dormers on the first floor and end chimneys with dripstones. The main façade faces east, with the doorway offset to the left (south) and a single window to the left of the door, while two windows are to the right. The windows are 4-pane sashes with slate sills, and there is an enlarged ground floor 'bay' window inserted between the two right-hand windows. The door is boarded and has a weathered tablet above it. The rear elevation includes some modern windows and small 4-pane sashes located under the eaves, as well as a single gabled half-dormer in the north bay wing. Additionally, there is a long fixed 10-pane light inserted in the apex of the south gable.
The outbuildings are attached to the north end of the house and are single storey. The former cowhouse has two doors flanking two ventilation slits, while the lower outbuilding at the north end has a single door to the left (south).
The interior was not viewed during the survey.
